The FA National Game Strategy was formed following the largest ever public consultation in the FA’s history. Over 37,000 people were involved, from coaches, referees and players, to volunteers, fans, administrators and local authorities.
In Jersey, around 500 people also participated in a consultation process which included Key stakeholder meetings, Individual questionnaires, Key stakeholder events and a Jersey FA website on-line questionnaire.
Our consultation process showed that the number one issue in Jersey football is tackling poor behaviour in football, in particular towards referees. To do this the Jersey FA will be utilising the RESPECT programme to highlight poor behaviour and reduce its occurrence.
Other key targets within our strategy include:
Sustaining the current amount of teams and increasing small sided teams
- Sustaining and recruiting more referees
- A qualified level 1 coach with every registered youth team
- 100% of all youth teams to have The FA Charter Standard Club Award
- £700,00 investment into new facilities
- 75% of stakeholders to agree that the Jersey FA are leading the game effectively
- Everyone working with children or vulnerable adults in football to have an enhanced CRB check
