Women's and Girl’s football is the most popular female sport in the country and is still the fastest growing. In the last season 133,000 players competed nationally in affiliated league and cup competitions.
FA research has shown that more than 1.5 million girls under the age of 15 played some form of football over the past 12 months and it is our aim to engage those girls in competitive school teams or youth clubs.
In Jersey there are opportunities for girl’s to play football at primary and secondary school. Three clubs on the island currently offer training for girls from 12-16 (contact details found in related documents). For players aged 16+ there are five senior teams.
The Jersey FA also organises Girl’s football festivals which are an excellent opportunity for girls to experience football in a fun and enjoyable environment Whether you’re a beginner at Primary School or hitting your teens and have never played before, or maybe you’re in your 20s and want to get back in the game, there is an opportunity for you. We are always looking for potential coaches and match officials so if your playing days are coming to an end or you want to volunteer your time then both are great ways to get involved in football.
