On behalf of the Junior Section committee, Jersey FA Football Development Manager, Brian Oliver provided an update on the Junior Section Development Plan (see related documents) highlighting the sections key objectives:
– to work towards achieving minimum operating standards;
– to develop better players and invest in the football workforce;
– to raise standards and address poor behaviour within the league and its members Clubs;
– to encourage Clubs to gain FA Charter Standard status and to sign up to the RESPECT programme.
Brian explained "the three year plan links into the Jersey FA National Game Strategy and also reflects plans being developed by FA Charter Standard Clubs - these plans providing a shared vision for the development of football on the Island".
Following the update, delegates were provided with a question/answer session to give their views on current issues within junior football.
JFC Junior Section Chairman Jon Welsh said "Once again many thanks to all who attended the meeting as this consultation is very important if we are to continue with improvements to our Junior League."
