Two successful in-service coaching events were organised by the Jersey FA Coaches Association on the 9th and 10th August to support both coach and player development.
The sessions were held as follows:
Session 1 - Coaching players 10-12 years of age with St. Pauls FC under 12 squad Session 2 - Coaching senior players with the Jersey FA senior Island ladies squad
In order to support the workshops and share best practice, at each session 3 x 30 minute coaching sessions were planned, delivered and evaluated focusing on the outcomes achieved to support Long Term Player Development (LTPD).
The practices were delivered by JFACA members Neil Vallois, Andy West, Peter Robinson, Tony Hoyland, Brian Oliver and by FA Regional Coach Development Manager, Geoff Pike.
Jersey FA Football Development Manager Brian Oliver said "Developing a learning culture with the emphasis on player and coach development is a key target in our long term strategy.
"These in-service coaching events provide Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities for coaches to share knowledge and develop best practice.
"The feedback from all those who attended has been very positive - many thanks to St. Pauls FC and the Jersey FA Ladies squad for their support with the provision of the practical demonstrations".
