Women & Girls Football

There are plenty opportunities for women and girls of all ages to get involved in Jersey football.

Jersey Women Combination Football Teams (16+)

At current there are four clubs that offer senior competitive women's football in Jersey Grouville FC, JTC Jersey Wanderers FC, St Peter FC and St Lawrence FC had teams in the women’s league.

The Women's League consists of 12 fixtures and two cup competitions.

JFA Capita Player Development Centre for Girls

The Jersey FA CAPITA Player Development Centre (girls) provides an advanced player pathway for youngsters on the Island with identified talent and potential. Founded in 2001, the Centre has grown from a single group of u14 players to 48 players in three age groups, from u12s to u86s who are supported by 10 female FA qualified coaches.

CAPITA PDC Director Jodie Botterill said “In partnership with Schools and affiliated Clubs, the Centre aims to provide a high quality coaching environment delivering a technical programme based on the “FA Future Game” document.

“Through continuity in our staff an agreed coaching and playing philosophy is being established which includes formations of play, playing through the thirds of the field, age appropriate practices and the provision of a positive learning environment."

“We also aim to produce players for the senior Island Womens representative squad who have developed good habits which include respect, fair play and sportsmanship”.

Sponsors CAPITA have provided support to develop a games programme which includes Scotland schoolgirls, as well as teams within the Britanny and Normandy regions.

St Peter FC Academy For Girls

St Peter’s FC Academy are developing an all-girls football team open to any female within the age bracket of 10-12 years old. Coaching will be overseen by Academy Head Coach Ian Solomon and Ladies Team Head Coach, Tony Hoyland together with selected members of the St Peter Ladies senior football team, who are all qualified coaches.

Training will take place on Monday Evenings 6-7.30pm at St Peter’s FC Training Complex at Rue des Vignes (located behind St Peter’s Garden Centre).

JTC Jersey Wanderers Girls Football
Lucy Even is establishing a girls team for the 'Red & Whites'. Any girls in school years 4-7 are welcome to join this developing team. Coming on the 15th of October it is Free to join. This is an opportunity to get involved in development based environment. Sessions will be fun and enjoyable and is open to all abilities.

Jersey FA Free Fun Nights For Girls (5 to 11 year olds)

The Jersey FA Free Fun Nights are a great way to help girls aged 5-11 of all abilities to participate in football. It gives the opportunity for girls already involved in the game to meet and join in with others that have the same love for the sport while building new friendships. We also give the opportunity to girls that are brand new to football to come into a well controlled learning environment, meet new friends and if they enjoy it then we can help them progress into more regular football to help with their future development.

Jersey FA After School Skill Sessions

The Jersey FA After School Skill Sessions are a great way to for girls to develop there skills in a safe learning environment. The sessions aid girls aged 5-11 of all abilities to participate in regular football, while building new friendships on and off the pitch. the sessions are based on Springfeilds new 3G pitch and are run by the Jersey FA's qualified Community team.
