Jersey FA Football Fun Weeks and After School Skill Sessions

Providing Football for boys and Girls aged 5-11 #FootballForAll

Overview – Jersey FA Community Coach (5-11s)

Our appointment of Daniel Seviour as Jersey FA Community Coach (5-11s) we are now opening up the opportunity for children to participate in Holiday Schools and In term After School Skills Sessions at Springfield Stadium. The Jersey FA’s aim is to provide unique football coaching programmes that gives children aged 5 – 11 the chance to get active, learn new football skills and enjoy the game in a safe, learning and enjoyable environment. These programmes will consist of Jersey FA Fun Weeks in the School Holidays and in school term After School Skill Sessions.

The Jersey FA Fun Week and Skill Sessions are aiming to open opportunities out to as many children as possible. These programmes will be run by FA qualified Jersey coaches who have also attained their First aid and Safeguarding children qualifications. All participants and coaches will be asked to sign and follow the Jersey FA Code of Conduct. This is to help encourage a healthy and safe learning environment for all children participating.

Here at the Jersey FA we see it as an important step forward to be able to offer such opportunities to local children. The Jersey FA Fun Weeks and After School Skill Sessions will be based on a unique FA coaching model that helps boys and girls of all abilities to grow, develop their skills and reach their full potential. The model we follow is the FA four corner model that aims to include four key attributes that are vital for any developing young footballer: Physical, Technical, Psychological and Social Elements. By using this model we will not only aim to help the children develop their football skills we will also aim to help them gain confidence, build self-esteem, learn to work as a team and improve on their decision making.

As well as running the Jersey FA Fun Weeks and After School Skill Sessions we at the Jersey FA with our new Community Coach (5-11s) will be looking to give support to our local Charter Standard football clubs and work with them together to offer all young footballers more opportunities to learn and develop in football. This may consist of visiting local clubs on a regular basis to run sessions, observe coaching sessions, evaluate delivery with coaches and to build strong relationships between the Jersey FA and local clubs. The community coach will also be linking up with Education Sport and Culture in their in-curricular schools programme.

Your child can take part in any of our Jersey FA Fun Weeks and After School Skill Sessions by contacting the Jersey FA Community Coach (5-11s) on the below details –
