Jersey FA Women v Navy FA Women Match Report

Jodie Botterill & Daniel Seviour took the team for the game against the Navy FA Women. The match was a tight affair with few chances, the first real attempt came after the opening 20 minutes. A long ball into the box found its way to Keen, but Navy FA Goalkeeper Woodsfold held on to keep the scores level. The Navy FA's first chance was through Jennifer Dick, a twisting turning run ending with a shot that curled into Sara Luce's arms. With both teams unable to break each other down, the first half was dominated by defensive play at both ends of the pitch, and the teams went in at the break level.

The second half was a tale of two chances; a deep cross from a corner found Jennifer Dick at the back post, whose looping header found the back of the net. Jersey FA’s women responded with a set piece of their own - Kelly Hughes rose highest in the box only to see her header rebound off the crossbar and out of play. Both teams continued to impress in what was an even fought contest, with the midfield three of Barnett, Watson and Muirhead working tirelessly throughout the match. As the referee blew his whistle the full time score was 1-0 to the Navy FA women.

Jersey FA Coach Daniel Seviour said; "Toady was all about the players, over the last two days they have shown a great attitude which resulted in today's excellent team display."
