Trinity Shield - Play for your Parish

Would you like to play some football during the League break over the Christmas period? Then maybe the Trinity Shield is what you are looking for.

It’s a knock-out competition open to the eleven country parishes (i.e. not St Helier) and to be eligible to play you have to be Jersey born. You are entitled to play for either your birth parish (where your parents lived when you were born) or your current parish of residence, and you’d have to be able to play senior football – in other words, at least 16 years old.

In most cases you’ll be playing with players you don’t normally team up with. All of the players, and especially those in the smaller parishes, are extremely proud to represent “their” parish. And it is the smaller parishes who generally have a relatively small core of players, often made up of two or three sets of brothers (and sometimes fathers!!) that are always looking for some new players to join their ranks.

The competition fixtures this season are as follows:

  • First round --- Tuesday December 19th St Peter v St Martin and Wednesday December 20th St Ouen v St John
  • Quarter Finals --- Saturday December 23rd St Clement v Grouville, St Saviour v St Brelade, Trinity v St Peter/St Martin and
  • St Lawrence v St Ouen/St John
  • The Semi Finals are on Saturday December 30th
  • Final is Wednesday January 3rd.

Interested and not sure who to contact? Either Registrations Secretary Mark Le Cornu (617327 or 07797 717055) or League Secretary John Treleven (863287) will be able to help you.
