"Jersey FA Announce Brightly Partnership"
Jersey FA are delighted to announce the strategic partnership with local charity, Brightly.
Brightly, formerly known as Brig-y-Don Children’s Charity, has been supporting vulnerable children and young people locally for almost 100 years. Founded in 1925 Brightly have undergone various changes over the years. Today Brightly exists to support children and young people from birth to 25 years, who are being looked after in States care, leaving care, or foster care, as well as others who are suffering adversity and are in need. This support is intended to create positive experiences and opportunities for these children and young people with the aim of helping individuals move towards independence.
Jersey FA has initially donated £625 to Brightly and also provided a number Community Activities as part of the strategic partnership. These include offering free places within the Jersey FA After School Skill Sessions and Holiday Fun Weeks programmes.
Brightly’s Fundraiser Wendy Nerac said; “This is a fantastic opportunity for the young girls and boys that we support to be able to get involved with playing football. There are so many benefits to this sport, such as developing their self-esteem, regular exercise and teaching them respect. We hope by giving these young people the tools they can grow into successful, independent adults.”
Wendy added; “Our vision is for all care experienced children and young people living in Jersey to realise their full potential regardless of ability or background. We are really looking forward to working with the Jersey Football Association.”
