Jersey Football Association is set to recognise the achievements of players and officials across the island through its annual End of Season Awards Evening, this year taking place on Saturday 3 July at the Radisson Hotel in St. Helier

Getting underway at 6.30pm, Jersey FA will be presenting nine awards to players and referees who have enjoyed memorable campaigns during an unusual year for football at grassroots level.

Awarded on the night will be the following accolades:

  • Jacksons Premiership Player of the Year
  • Jacksons Championship Player of the Year
  • Jacksons Over 35 Player of the Year
  • Jacksons U18 Division Player of the Year
  • Jersey Women’s League Player of the Year
  • Santander International Walking Footballer of the Year
  • Jacksons Premiership Top Goalscorer
  • Jersey Women’s League Top Goalscorer
  • Jersey FA Referee of the Year

Following the presentation of the awards, those in attendance will be able to enjoy after-dinner entertainment from Jersey FA’s headline speaker on the night, Jim Leishman, who has become recognised as one of Scotland’s top after-dinner speakers.

Currently Dunfermline’s Director of Football, Jim has enjoyed an eventful career in the professional game, having been a successful manager with clubs including Dunfermline, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and, most recently, Livingston. In addition, Jim has the proud honour of featuring in a Scottish Cup Final at Hampden Park as both a player and a manager.

David Kennedy, Chief Executive Officer at Jersey FA, said: “After the disappointment of being unable to complete the 2019/20 season, we want to ensure that this will be a special evening for everyone, as there is so much to celebrate.

“We intend to make it a night to remember and having Jim as the headline speaker will guarantee that.

“He is one of the biggest personalities in the Scottish game and is renowned for his hilarious anecdotes from his playing and managerial career.”
