"Deepening the understanding Around the principals of good attacking and defensive play"

In the Development Squad phase the players continue the learning they have received within earlier phases centred around our values, our playing philosophy, team targets as well as individual players roles and responsibilities.

Throughout this phase there is more emphasis on the tactical side of the game with our focus being on deepening the understanding of the principles of good attacking and defensive play.

The players that have been in the programme through all the phases and had the benefit of working with the previous phase coaches, come into the development squads with a good understanding of what being a Representative player is all about both on and off the pitch.

The Development Squad phase players are provided with weekly coaching sessions at Springfield Stadium from September to mid April delivered through a structured work programme which is supplemented by a games programme which includes FA County Youth Cup; Fulham FC and Southampton FC Academies, Northern Ireland Schoolboys as well as inter-squad friendlies, all leading to the two inter-insular games versus Guernsey FA at u18 and u21.

The pathway for players within this phase coincides with the transition into senior mens football with their Clubs and possible selection for the Jersey FA Senior Mens team. Other opportunities may include scholarships within Professional Football Club Academies and scholarships in Universities in the USA.
