ITV Channel TV Sid Guy Awards 2018

The ITV Channel TV Sid Guy 2018 Awards are presented to the Islands most promising young players. Two players are selected each year from our player development programmes who have worked hard through-out the season and have conducted themselves in an exemplarary  manner both on and off the pitch.

This year the awards have been won by St. Peter FCs Anita Tavares and St. Clement FCs Tom Harris. The pair join a long list of prestigious names including in recent years; Megan Wood (JTC Jersey Wanderers) and Robbie Scott (JTC Jersey Wanderers) in 2017, Natasha Keen (JTC Jersey Wanderers) and Joe Kilshaw (St. Pauls)  in 2016.

Sid Guy's sister, Valerie Guy was on hand at Haute Vallee and Springfield Stadium to present the Shields to Anita and Tom in front of their fellow players and coaches.
Player Development Centre (girls) u16 coach Michelle Bichard said; “Anita's continued dedication, hard work and enthusiasm for the game is fantastic. Anita is a deserving winner of this year’s Sid Guy Award and is she is a role model for aspiring female footballers on the Island.”

Centre of Excellence (boys) u16 coach Paul Renton said "Tom has improved year on year whilst attending the Centre of Excellence. He is dedicated to getting better both on an off the pitch. Tom is a credit to his School, his Club and his family - many congratulations to a deserved recipient of this award."
