This will be the final match before this year’s 102nd Hepburns Insurance Muratti Vase Final.Jersey FA men have been in good form in the build up to this match with wins over Upton Park FC and the Navy FA.

Jersey FA Senior Men’s Manager Martin Cassidy said; “After some good performances against the Navy FA and Upton Park FC we bring a lot of positive momentum into this fixture and a winning mentality. So that’s good for us going into our last friendly before the Muratti Vase Final. Essex and Boarder league proved to be challenging opponents last year, and this will be another good fixture for us.”

Tony Armstrong , Manager of the Essex and Suffolk Border League is looking forward to the annual match on April 28th. Armstrong said; “We have been visiting Jersey for several years now and it is a perfect finale to our Representative team season. The matches are always very competitive and we are fully expecting the ‘backlash’ after stealing last year’s match with a 1-0 victory.

Armstrong added; "We have had a successful season getting to the quarter finals of the FA Inter League Cup.  We are hopeful of bringing another strong team this year and I’m really hoping we don’t lose key players in the run up to the match as our League Clubs are still playing ‘catch up’ on their fixtures, with many involved in midweek matches including the week preceding our visit. This is a very prestigious fixture for our League and we place a great importance on achieving a good result so I’m hopeful that we can continue on from where we left off last season."
