"Youth Development Phase"

"The Youth Development Phase consists of squads at u15 and u16 age groups with weekly seasons taking place at Springfield Stadium on Monday evenings from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm.

"Within this Phase we recognise that the players have limited experience of playing 11v11 football and therefore we begin to focus more on the tactical side of the game whilst continuing to develop technical skills. We use the principles of good attacking and defending play to provide a work programme for both squads.

"A review is conducted at the end of every session and at the end of the season in preparation for selecting Development Squads at 17 and u18. Where we feel appropriate, identified players at u16 are invited to participate in u17 and u18 sessions during the season to support their development."
