New season update from the Jersey FA office

With the season kicking off this Saturday (5 September 2020), the Jersey FA office has circulated updated information for clubs and their managers.

The below update was emailed to Jersey FA Combination club secretaries on Thursday afternoon ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Dear Club Secretaries,

Just a quick note from the Jersey FA office ahead of the new JFA Combination season, which kicks off this weekend. Please pass on the below to your managers, coaches and other relevant members.

Firstly, thank you for your continued efforts to get football back up and running in a safe environment for players, coaches, spectators, officials and club volunteers. We are all continuing to adapt to this new norm and everyone in the football community can be proud of their efforts in these unprecedented times. We realise, in particular, the restriction limiting gathering sizes to 40 people has been a real challenge for clubs and we will continue to speak to the Government of Jersey about when it’s right to relax those guidelines. They have indicated in the last 48 hours that the 40-person limit remains in place as we start the new season.

Who Has Registered?

You are reminded that players (U11 age group right up to O35 and everything in between) must be registered with the Jersey FA to be eligible to play in competitive matches.

Secretaries can see who has so far registered for the club via the Whole Game System – wholegame.thefa.com – by:

  • Clicking the “Player Registration” tab on the left.
  • Changing the filter from “League Registration” to “Approved”
  • Only players shown as “Approved” are registered with the league.

Managers/Coaches can see who has so far registered for their team via the Whole Game System - wholegame.thefa.com – by:

  • Clicking the “My Clubs and Teams” tab on the left.
  • Clicking the down arrow on the right to open the “Teams” section
  • Clicking the blue “Squad List” button.

Whole Game System is running very slow this week due to high demand. However, anyone can see who is registered for any team by clicking on the team in the league table on the 2020/21 Full-Time website - https://fulltime-league.thefa.com/Index.do?league=8379530 – and then clicking on “players”. We currently have a backlog of over 100 registrations which we are working our way through.

Please confirm with all your players that they have registered with the Jersey FA ahead of kick off. If they are paying online after 5pm on Friday then you should ask to see their CityPay receipt as confirmation they have paid the fee. We will then backdate their registration on Monday morning. Players must register before kick off to be eligible for the match.

Paper Team Sheets

Managers/Coaches should submit their paper team sheets to the referee and opposition at least 20 minutes before kick-off. If you need some new blank pads, we have a stock in the office at Springfield Stadium. Please pop in on Friday to collect before 5pm.

Submitting Scores & Team Sheets

Results – To submit a final score (within 60 minutes of the full time whistle) please either reply to the SMS text sent during the game, or use the FA Matchday App/Full-Time website.

Line-ups, substitutes used, goal scorers – Please use the Full-Time website or the FA Matchday App to submit your match details (within 2 days).

Suspensions

Clubs, managers and coaches are reminded that suspensions from the end of last season carry over into the season, just as every year. Postponed/voided/cancelled matches from the end of last season cannot be used to serve a suspension. If you have any doubts as to who is suspended, please call the JFA office before 5pm on Friday.

The new Jersey FA Rules for the 2020/21 Season, as agreed at the recent AGM, are available to read and download on our website here: https://www.jerseyfa.com/about/rules-and-regulations/jersey-fa-rules
