Women's New 'Come and Play' Session Kicks-Off The Season

New sessions start Sunday 10 September 2023.

The Jersey FA are please to announce that our competition structure for the 2023-24 season will Kick-Off with our first Women's 'Come and Play' session!

When: Sunday, 10 September 2023
Time: 09:00-12:00
Venue: Springfield Stadium
Age: 16+

Cost: FREE

This will be a small, sided football festival for any female aged 16+ with an aim to provide a stress-free environment for players to enjoy football.

Format and fixture timings will be dependent on registrations.

Players will be mixed into teams on the day, and we would encourage players to bring any female friends or family members that would like to take part in a stress-free environment.

Coaches and team managers would be very welcome to support the festival and would be a great opportunity to recruit new unregistered players and network with Jersey FA staff and an FA Coach Developer.

Our women's competition then continues with an new format:

Zenith Cup & Women’s Jersey FA Plate  - This tournament will be expanded from a total of 6 to 12 matches and will provide teams with a home and away fixture. Group fixtures will on Sunday, 17 September 2023.

The Jersey FA will be hosting a new final’s format which will see back-to-back finals played on a special day for women’s football and this is planned for early December 2023.

Teams’ finishing in third and fourth place will play in the new Women’s Jersey FA Plate Team’s finishing in first and second place will play in the Zenith Cup

Women’s Division - This will kick off on Sunday, 12 November 2023 and will see a total of 24 matches being played until Spring 2024. This continues the 12-match league schedule for each club with home and away matches, to be played.

Women’s Football Forum - Our second forum dedicated to Women's football will take place later this year and further details on registering for this event will be announced in due course.

Mid-Season ‘Come and Play’ Festival -  A second ‘Come and Play’ festival will be hosted by the Jersey FA at Springfield stadium in January 2024.

Women’s JFA Cup 'Colin Welsh Trophy'  - Our prestigious Women’s JFA Cup will be contested in the second half of the season, and we welcome our friends from Guernsey Women, who will be competing in this seasons’ tournament:

Quarter Finals

4 February 2024 – Rozel Rovers Women vs Grouville Women

Semi-Finals


3 March 2024 – RRW/GW vs St Peter Women

3 Match 2024 – Jersey Wanderers Women v Guernsey Women

Final - TBC

Jersey FA Football Services Manager, Jonathan Le Fondre, said: "I am delighted to roll-out our plans for the Open-Age Women's competitions for the 2023-24 season, whcih looks to expand the number of fixture and playing opportunities."
