Jersey FA Appoints New Director and IAG Chair
The Jersey Football Association is pleased to confirm the appointment of Nadia Lewis as Jersey FA Non-Executive Director and Jersey FA Inclusion Advisory Group Chair.
Nadia has a wealth of experience in the Diversity, Equality & Inclusion space having been actively involved as a committee participant or lead for a number of financial services firms. Nadia has also been on the advisory board of The Diversity Network, a local charity which champions many aspects of DE&I on the island. She has experienced some of the challenges facing our community first hand and she comes with a wealth of ideas and knowledge that will help to push forward the good work of Janet Hall who previous led this work.
In addition, Nadia has a strong background in corporate governance, having been both a company secretary and a director, as such she will support the work we have undertaken to date to further strengthen governance as well as aspects of risk management for which she is most well-known.
Nadia said "Football is such a widely played sport in the island, taking on the chair of the IAG committee I feel that there is a real opportunity to make a difference to a significant number of sportspeople across the island and to the wider Jersey Football community. I am looking forward to the challenge and hope to bring a fresh perspective having experienced a number of different DE&I challenges personally which hopefully means I come from a position of knowledge not just theory".
David Kennedy, Jersey FA CEO said, "This is a significant appointment for us at a time when barriers such as the cost-of-living crisis is adding to the pressure that families are faced with. Nadia’s knowledge and experience, along with her determination, will ensure this area continues to be a key focus across all aspects of our charity and the services we provide".
